At around 6:00 am today, Yeadon Fire Company responded to a distress call concerning a vehicle fire on the 800 block of Cypress Street. While en route, Fireboard, the dispatcher, informed Engine 16 that the caller had reported that the blaze was spreading rapidly towards nearby buildings and thus upgraded it as an assignment for building fires requiring immediate attention.

Upon arrival, crews from Engine 16 found a fully involved vehicle fire that had extended slightly to the nearby residence. They were able put out the flames in short order and remained at the site for just over an hour.
