| Yesterday was a busy day for Company 16! Around 0800 the company was dispatched to 1000 Blk of Whitby for a building fire. Engine 16 responded with a crew of 4 and held the incident to Engine 16 and Truck 4 for ventilation. Around 1000 the day crew took a trip to Evans Elementary School to speak to the children about fire prevention. They had a great time meeting our firefighters and getting to take a look inside of Squad 1600. Just after 5pm the company was dispatched to a local grocery store in the borough for industrial rescue for a shelf that collapsed. Squad 16 responded and began to remove some of the shelves to check for other patients, an Engine from Company 4 also assisted. No other patients were found and companies cleared in just under an hour. Finally around 6pm our fire prevention and open house event kicked off! Thanks to everyone that stopped by, everyone had a great time! We would like to send a special thanks to Company 4 for assisting with our fire prevention event! |
