Today's #membermonday is Algernon Wildes Jr., aka AJ.

When did you join Yeadon Fire Company: 2018

Why did you join Yeadon Fire Company: I joined Yeadon to better myself as a firefighter and to help others in the surrounding community.

What is your favorite part of being a member of Yeadon Fire Company: One of my favorite parts is when we all get together, either at a training session or a BBQ, and get to share stories about the history of the fire company, or our own history before we joined.

What do you do when you aren't at the firehouse: I am either working at my job or spending time at home with my family.

What made you get into the fire service: When I was a kid, the fire department came to my school during fire prevention to showcase some of their tools and gear. I thought it was really cool, so when I was old enough, I joined the local fire company.

Do you have any family in the fire service: No. I am the first generation in my family to be a part of the fire service.
